Over 90% of the Deaf are born to hearing parents. For most, their child is the first Deaf person they have met.

3rd grade is the average reading grade level for a deaf adult compared to a 7-8th grade reading level for hearing peers.

Deaf women are twice as likely to experience domestic violence or human trafficking worldwide.

Fifteen years ago, Roy and Myra Price arrived in Guatemala with a simple but life-changing question: “Where are the Deaf?” What they discovered was heartbreaking — a hidden community of Deaf individuals, many of whom had never been given a language, a school, or a place to belong.
