Deaf Camp by Kimberly Johnson

Today marks the eagerly anticipated kick-off of our “Rooted: Indwelling in Christ” camp for the Deaf, as we take a bus full of campers up the picturesque mountainside to Santa Elena Barillas, nestled near the majestic Volcan Pacaya. The air is charged with excitement as participants gather for a refreshing experience that blends spiritual growth and community building. Against the backdrop of breathtaking natural scenery, our agenda is packed with enriching activities, including Bible teaching sessions and specialized pastoral training. Amid the serene surroundings, we have planned a schedule that balances spiritual nourishment with moments of recreation, engaging crafts, and various social activities. The camp promises not only to clarify the Gospel of Christ to the Deaf but also to foster lasting bonds within the Deaf community. As we embark on this journey, we are filled with anticipation for the profound impact and meaningful connections that will undoubtedly unfold throughout this much anticipated event with the purpose of enriching spiritual growth among our Deaf believers and gaining new believers.
