So far she has had a safe trip full of blessings and here are some of her observations:
“My journey so far has been an amazing one, filled with new experiences and new friends. The most incredible and amazing experience I have encountered has been sitting under the teaching of Deaf Pastors across the nation. These pastors are all very different and each one AMAZING!
“One Deaf Pastor in Georgia dove into the original language to explain a concept and preach a message on discipleship. His message was about our reaction to seemingly unrelated events in our life that are actually God preparing us to follow Him in obedience.
“Another Deaf Pastor, this time from Tennessee, has such an emphasis on prayer that he has suspended the typical Sunday School class and established a War Room in which they teach about prayer, sing about the goodness of God answering prayer and then dedicate a large portion of the hour to prayer. This Pastor is teaching the Deaf how to pray and but also teaching them to wait for an answer, much the same way we wait for a response to our text messages.
“Yet another Deaf Pastor in Kansas used items such as a mirror and his attire to give an easily understood example of how we should not only read God’s Word but also obey it to become more Christ-like. When the Scripture shows us an area for growth in our lives, we must take the steps to achieve that growth or make the needed changes or we are like someone who looks in the mirror to check his appearance but then doesn’t fix his twisted collar.
“Our nation is blessed with the most incredible Pastors for the Deaf and it’s wonderful to know that each and every one of them would love to come alongside Latin Deaf Services and teach a week long course in our future Deaf Bible Institute.”
